i would like to share with you what i do with my personal training business. I have always liked exercise, the older i got the more i saw the need for it.I would get achy when i didnt exercise, i felt sluggish, tired and yep, as i got older i noticed my body needed exercise to look better. It became a passion for me, and i wanted to help others feel as good as i did from exercising, soooo, i went to school to get certified as a personal trainer, i enjoyed what i was learning so much that after i got that certification, i continued on to get my certification in nutrition. ( i still do hair, i like the idea of making people feel and look good from head to toe!)
I train people out of my basement, steve and i did some rearranging down there, laid a gym floor, mirrored a wall, painted and bought exercise equipment, and tadaa--- a gym!! I charge $30 an hour if you do a one on one session. If you and a friend do it together,i give you a $5.00 discount and its $25 a piece. Some people like bringing a friend, that way you have an accountablity partner and its more fun. I teach you how to exercise correctly,i push you to do the best that you can do,i dont scream at you, im not mean,im not jillian. That works on tv shows, not in real life.I want the best for you, i will encourage you, be your biggest fan,not humiliate you.
I weigh my clients when we start a program, I never tell a weight ( well except for deana's, she knew that going in to the program, it was the deal we had.) I measure you, again, no one but me and you knows the numbers. every week i weigh you to see progress, i measure you about every 6 weeks. I help you with a diet program, actually, its not a diet, its a life style. In the beginning, i have my clients email me their food journals every day. Yep, i see every thing you eat!!! I never yell at you for poor choices, i just want to know what you are eating so we can tweak things when they go astray. But the other thing the food journal does is let YOU see what you are putting in your mouth, sometimes its a eye opener.
I do have some clients who dont care about losing weight, they exercise to be healthy and toned. Those clients dont mail me a journal. But no matter how you decide to train, i encourage you and work the way that works best for you. I always like to give tips and ideas,i try to keep things exciting by doing extra and new exercises all the time. I do this to make you feel good about yourself. I love when my clients learn to like themselves again. There is no greater job than making people love themselves, to make people feel good, inside and outside. I love when clients tell me their back no longer hurts, that they feel stronger, that they love their arms again, that they have more energy. This is why i do what i do.
Theres a few ideas i have been throwing around for the new year, i would like to get one day a week, maybe saturdays at 9 am and get about 6 people and charge $8 a class and have them come here for an hour of fun exercising. I have been thinking about have a nutrition dicussion hour where we get people together and shot ideas off each other, to see if we could all help each other out with fresh ideas etc. One more thing i would like to mention is that some of my clients come every 4 weeks or so, i train them for an hour write down every thing we do, they take that home with them and do it at home for the month and comes back to get another work out. ( this cost $35) That way you exercise when you want and it saves you money, however, this only works for people who are disciplined to do it at home. Some clients comes once a week, some comes 2 times a week and i also have one client who comes 3 times a week. I will work with you to fit your needs.
Well i just wanted you to know what i do, i have had people say to me, i would love to be trained, but im afraid. I work at your pace and i push only when you are ready. I live in arnold, if any of you are thinking about getting fit this year and need a trainer, i would love to help you. Call me at 314-580-1999, if you are interested. May you have a blessed, healthy new year!!!
